Frequently asked questions
It's never dustless like many claim, more like 95%-98% dustless. We tell customers that it may look like you have not dusted in a week or two. Most of our equipment is hooked up to vacuum systems or is self-contained. Most people are amazed at how clean it is during the process.
The two options cost about the same in the end. Installing prefinished flooring is a faster option because you cut out the sand and finishing part. Installing an unfinished product means that there are more custom options like colors and products. With a unfinished floor, you have a longer process, adding in about a week of sanding and finishing of the floor.
In short, both are great finishes in their own right. Oil-based has a richer, deeper look that tends to amber with age. Oil does have an odor and dries anywhere from 6 to 12 hours per coat. Water-based is more of a clear finish that is not supposed to amber over time. It's promoted to have a low to no odor and dries in about 2-4 hours per coat. Depending on the schedule, we can get 2 coats applied in a day which speeds up the finish work for our customers.
I am happy to say that we are now selling the great Procare floor cleaner that everyone has been looking for since Mark David retired. This is the best product to clean your floors with.
